A useful travel community

The Travels Tip gives readers tools to save, follow, comment and maintain profiles. These features work best when contributions help other travellers understand a destination, experience or practical issue without harassment, manipulation or misleading claims.

Be relevant and constructive

Comments should relate to the article or discussion. Share specific experience, corrections, context or a useful question. Repetitive promotion, unrelated links, keyword stuffing and attempts to redirect readers to unrelated services may be removed.

Respect other people

Disagreement is allowed; abuse is not. Do not threaten, harass, impersonate, discriminate against or deliberately humiliate another reader, contributor, business employee or member of the editorial team.

Do not publish private or dangerous information

Do not post passwords, payment credentials, private contact details, identification numbers or another person's sensitive information. Do not use the community to coordinate illegal activity or encourage conduct that creates a clear safety risk.

Reviews, recommendations and conflicts

If you have a commercial, employment or personal relationship with a business or destination you discuss, disclose it when that relationship could affect how readers interpret your contribution. Do not fabricate a stay, visit, meal, booking or other first-hand experience.

Moderation

The Travels Tip may hold, edit for safety where appropriate, hide or remove contributions that breach these standards or the Terms of Use. Repeated or serious abuse can lead to account restrictions. Moderation decisions do not convert reader comments into editorial endorsements.

Report a problem

Use the available reporting or Contact route to flag a contribution that appears unsafe, abusive, deceptive or unlawful. Include enough context for the team to locate and review it.
