The Travels Tip provides registered users with a way to permanently close their account and request deletion of personal information associated with it.

How to delete your account

If you can sign in to your account:

  1. Sign in to The Travels Tip.
  2. Open your Account Dashboard.
  3. Go to your Privacy controls.
  4. Select the option to Delete account or permanently close your account.
  5. Review the information explaining what deletion will affect.
  6. Confirm your identity and submit the deletion request.

Once the account deletion process is completed, access to the account will be revoked and applicable private account information will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with our privacy and record-retention requirements.

Information that may be retained

Some information may need to be retained where reasonably necessary for legitimate business, security, editorial, accounting, fraud-prevention or legal purposes. This may include limited records relating to:

  • Published editorial content and author attribution
  • Financial transactions, invoices, refunds or accounting records
  • Security, abuse-prevention and audit records
  • Records that must be preserved to comply with applicable law or resolve disputes

Where possible, personal information that is no longer required will be deleted or anonymized.

Facebook Login users

If you created or accessed your The Travels Tip account using Facebook Login, you can use the same account-deletion process described above.

Removing The Travels Tip from your Facebook account does not necessarily delete your account or information stored by The Travels Tip. To request deletion of information held by The Travels Tip, use the account deletion controls on our website or contact us as described below.

If you cannot access your account

If you cannot sign in but want to request deletion of your personal information, contact The Travels Tip through our official Contact or Privacy channel.

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing a deletion request to protect accounts and personal information from unauthorized requests.
